New Years trip to Braemar
For a few days over New Years I went to Braemar to go winter walking. We had to work around the extensive flooding but managed to get some good walking done.

Lake District trip in October
I went to the Lake District on 16th to 18th October with the UoN mountaineers. On the Saturday I led a walk near Buttermere with a group of new members and on the Sunday went for a scramble up Sour Milk Gill and then up Great Gable.

Brecon Beacons
Last weekend I went to the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons with five friends. We were practising for our expedition to Norway which starts in 3 days time. We also did some filming whilst walking and camping.

Quick trip to the Lakes
On the Saturday 30th I drove up to Wasdale in the Lake District for a quick trip. I had an interview on the Sunday morning for a place on a fast track outdoor leadership course. Afterwards I went for a walk up Scafell Pike.

Norway: Summer 2014
In May 2014 the Nottingham University mountaineering club received an email from John, an alumnus member, setting us a very interesting challenge based on a “unique and slightly odd opportunity”.

Joining the MCofS
Last week I joined MCofS (Mountaineering Council of Scotland) as a member. This is something I would recommend as it helps support their work and provides excellent benefits including a nice gift free for new members.

Wild Lakes District weekend
Despite the mixed forecast this weekend I went to the Lake District with five friends, we camped on the Friday night, walked on the Saturday before camping and then walk back on the Sunday.
