Norway: Summer 2015
This September, I went with University of Nottingham Mountaineering on their much anticipated expedition to Norway. Returning to the same location as last year with the aim of cleaning up the debris of a 1950’s glacier survey camp, we had a twelve person team which included two members of the 1959 glacier survey expedition.

Attempt at Skiddaw
I recently went for a walk with the plan to go up Skiddaw (931 m), the fourth highest mountain in the Lake District. After heavy snow some days before it turned to be more difficult than I expected.

New Years trip to Braemar
For a few days over New Years I went to Braemar to go winter walking. We had to work around the extensive flooding but managed to get some good walking done.

Lake District trip in October
I went to the Lake District on 16th to 18th October with the UoN mountaineers. On the Saturday I led a walk near Buttermere with a group of new members and on the Sunday went for a scramble up Sour Milk Gill and then up Great Gable.

Van: The plan
I recently bought a Renault Trafic van (see my Man with Van post) and though I would share an outline of my plan for converting it into a campervan.

Van: removing old plywood and repainting
I have been working on my van (see Man with Van and Van:The plan posts for more information) and have started the conversion into a campervan. This post covers the removal of the old plywood lining and repainting some areas of metal.

Brecon Beacons
Last weekend I went to the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons with five friends. We were practising for our expedition to Norway which starts in 3 days time. We also did some filming whilst walking and camping.

Man with Van
I recently purchased a van with the intention of converting it into a climber’s camping van.

North York Moors
A couple of weekends ago I went to the North York Moors. I was travelling to Billingham to pick up some carpet for my van and so it seemed a good idea to see the moors.

Quick trip to the Lakes
On the Saturday 30th I drove up to Wasdale in the Lake District for a quick trip. I had an interview on the Sunday morning for a place on a fast track outdoor leadership course. Afterwards I went for a walk up Scafell Pike.
